NaNoWriMo Tip #27: We’re So Proud of You!

As I peruse the blogs today I find many of the NaNoWriMo writers have completed their goal of 50,000 words ahead of schedule.  This is great news!  If you haven’t quite reached the goal, then keep at it, don’t quit, and take a hammer to that creative genie.

I think it’s great that many of the writers out there have written the goal word count, and now comes the daunting task of trying to put those words to the anvil and edit them down to something that is more presentable.

I just wanted to say that I am encouraged by so many people finishing this project and I wish all of you the best of luck in getting that mound of quivering words published.  I have a video for all of you today, and it is for the people who are still working and the people who have finished the project.  What you have been through this month is nothing short of being locked in a madhouse for a month, and so this one is for all of you:

The rest of you, get back to work!

  3. Ha ha, nice post, and good choice of video to go with it!

acflory, you’re thinking of NaNoEdMo, in March. But I plan to start editing way before then. It takes as long or longer than writing. Also, yay for being happy with your work! 🙂

  6. I’m very happy with my nano effort this year but… I know just how far off publishable it is. I seem to remember there’s another nano event at some point that is for editing? Be worth looking it up.
